The agreement between Ukraine and Slovenia, signed on July 18, 2024, commits to long-term security cooperation and support amidst Russia’s ongoing aggression. Slovenia reaffirms its support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, pledging continuous military, humanitarian, and economic assistance over the 10-year term of the agreement. The agreement focuses on enhancing Ukraine’s defense capabilities, integrating Ukraine’s defense industry into EU and NATO frameworks, and promoting interoperability with Euro-Atlantic partners. Slovenia will assist Ukraine with training within the framework of the EU Military Assistance Mission for Ukraine (EUMAM) and work with Ukraine on sourcing funds to support Ukrainian defence industry projects. The agreement also includes commitments on intelligence sharing, cybersecurity, fighting organized crime, countering disinformation, and humanitarian aid. Slovenia supports Ukraine’s reforms and aspirations for EU and NATO membership, emphasizing the importance of shared democratic values and cooperation for a just and lasting peace.
